Nektar - The Other Side (2020)

The 15th album from this British band.

The band is a quintet on this album with a lineup of keyboards, guitars, bass, drums, percussion and vocals.

This version of Nektar includes three original members of the band. This in contrast to the version of the band who, under the name New Nektar, released the pretty poor Meglomania album back in 2018. That album is still regarded as a Nektar album though and The Other Side is the follow up album.

It has to be said that the three original members knows how Nektar sounds and should sound. The good old order has (almost) been restored on this album.

This album is over an hour long. It is a double LP no less. A single CD too, it is.

The music is a mix of rock music and psych rock in the vein of the good old Nektar. Yes, the Nektar who the fans love is very much present here.

The vocals are good and the musicians does a good job on the not so overly complicated music. It is still complicated, psych and proggy enough to give the brain some food for thought. There are some really clever music on this album.

The result is a good album which goes a long way to restore the very good reputation of this band.
