Jade Warrior - Floating World (1974)

The fourth album from this British band.

The band was a duo on this album with a lineup of guitars, bass, piano, glockenspiel, piano, organ, cello, various percussions, flutes and alto sax.
The band had support from some guest musicians who provided harp, string bass, drums, guitar, spoken word and choirs.

After three albums of various testing out genres, the band changed genre again on this and became what everyone regards as Jade Warrior.

Floating World is an album full of ambient music. The music is still full of interesting details though and by no means the usual fare of ambient music.

The music is clearly influenced by the Far-East. The Japanese flute used here is interesting. The music is still rooted in the British music scene too.

There is a lot of interesting, lingering guitar solos here and some interesting melodies and details. There is also a lot of acoustic details here too.

Ambient music is not the most interesting genre. This album though is a classic album and a very good one, clocking in at just over half an hour.

Check out this album.
