Resistor - Underground (2017)

The fourth album from this band from USA.

The band is a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, flute, violins, keyboards, guitars and vocals.

I reviewed their third album, the 2014 album To The Stars, back in Christmas 2015 for # 1 of this blog

I was not impressed by that album.

Underground is an eighty minutes long album which contains all kind of melodic music from bluegrass to heavy metal.

That is melodic songs with a mix of neo-prog, bluegrass, rock and heavy metal. There is one tracks here with clear references to Iron Maiden.

Most of the music is what is today called Americana. That is lively roots music with a lot of heavy rock and some progressive rock.

The songs are OK. The vocals are rather good and the musicians does their best.

The album is faaaaar too long and works more like a collection of songs with no or little quality control.

Some of the music works while other parts of this album does not work particular well.

This album falls somewhere between decent and good.
